Google and Yahoo! Deadline Approaching for Email Security Requirements

In just a few days on February 1st, 2024, Yahoo! and Google will be attempting a crack down on spammers by enforcing authentication requirements for domains sending more than 5,000 emails per day.
Specifically, BOTH Google and Yahoo! will require DKIM and SPF to be properly implemented. Further, we have seen these required when other thresholds have been hit so it is HIGHLY recommended you set these up and DMARC immediately to help your email deliverability.
In addition, Google wants to ensure that Gmail recipients are receiving mail they actually want to receive. In order to accomplish this, a clear spam threshold that senders must stay under will be implemented.

Google staff has also relayed information that these protections are presently ONLY being put in place for Gmail accounts. Google Workspace accounts will be coming later.
What do I need to do?
Besides not sending spam, ensure you have DMARC, DKIM, and SPF configured for your domain.

Hey Google?
While these measures will help with spam on Google and Yahoo!’s systems, they are going to cause significant disruption without addressing the massive problem of spammers creating throwaway freemail accounts on Gmail and Yahoo! so they can send spam with little to no repercussions or cost.
